Common reasons for IV Iron include for treatment of anemia, or for increasing hemoglobin prior to elective surgery.

We offer IV Iron in single and double-doses. The number of infusions that is right for you depends on the reason.

If you are interested in IV Iron for anemia, we recommend continuing until you see improvement of symptoms, depending on the degree of anemia. Often, we have clients who have a normal hemoglobin but are symptomatic from a “low-ferritin” anemia.

For pre-op purposes, IV Iron should help to improve hemoglobin. Often, there is a certain number your doctor or Miami plastic surgeon may want to see prior to your cosmetic or other surgery. However, it cannot guarantee a certain level of hemoglobin. IV Iron takes time to improve hemoglobin, so we recommend coming in one to two weeks prior to your pre-op lab draw, if possible.
